Description

Cinnamon is a tree from which the essential oil is extracted from its twigs and leaves. While cinnamon is renowned for its spice, the essential oil does not come from the aromatic, dried inner bark of the tree as commonly expected—it is too strong for aromatherapy purposes. Instead, the oil is derived from the leaves.

  • Mentioned as one of the most common spices in the Old Testament.
  • In the 15th and 16th centuries, cinnamon was more valuable than gold.
• Characteristics of the Oil:
  • Sweet-spicy, herbaceous, peppery aroma with slight woody and exotic undertones.

  • Note: Not suitable for skin and hair care due to potential sensitizing effects.
