Country of Origin: Distilled in Hungay. Extracted through steam distillation of crushed fruits of cultivated fennel.

Description: Fennel is most commonly found in Japan, India, Mediterranean, Russia, Romania, and Northern Europe. Ancient Greeks and Romans used Fennel to lose weight, and to gain a sense of courage. The Hindus and Chinese used the oil as anti-venom for snakes and scorpions, and the herbs were grown in all of the imperial gardens in the reign of Emperor Charlemagne. An amazing anti-venom, it is still used today in China, as well as on farms, to promote lactation in animals.

Slightly earthy, peppery, spicy, clean, sweet, aromatic, dry, and husky. Blends well with anise, basil, carrot, geranium, dill, lavender, lemon, rose, rosemary, sandalwood, tarragon, and yarrow.

A great option if you like the smell of anise but find it a bit too strong. Sweet fennel pure essential oil has a floral scent with an herbal top note and anise-like aroma. Its main qualities are warming and drying.

Uses: Supports the discharge of surplus kidney fluids, alleviating water tension (good for treating kidney stones). A great slimming aid (can reduce cellulite) and is a proven diuretic.
